Any good turn-based RPG or Strategy games for the iPhone?
I just upgraded to the 4S and I've been looking for something to help kill time on the commutes. So far all I seem to find are Action RPG's (touch-screen joysticks, ugh) and Final Fantasy games.
Something along the lines of Devil Survivor would be great.
Civilization: Revolution is pretty fun. And I don't know of any other games on any platform that blend turn-based RPG and strategy together like devil survivor.
Rimelands: Hammer of Thor seems to be the unanimous pick for turn-based fantasy rpg on iOS, but i haven't played it yet. You can also check out Rogue Planet, and another game called Great Little War Game. Both of these are similar to Advance Wars. Other iOS rpg games to consider: Across Age, Zenonia series, Hybrid, Hybrid 2, Legends of Yore, 100 Rogues, Guardian Saga, chronoSgear (similar to Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes), Civilization: Revolution, Mage Gauntlet, Pocket RPG, Solomon's Keep, and Aralon: Sword and Shadow.
I'm having a lot of fun with Ravenmark. There's a good amount of lore, and the movement of joined formations makes tactics and battlefield positioning plenty of fun.
@Zaph: I bought and played Battleheart and found it quite good. It actually had action, good graphics and nice ambient soundtrack. I usually don't go for things like Final Fantasy but this was worthwhile, IMO. By the way, I only got to the second level of Battlehear because it got too hard for my gaming skills at the time and also I had other things to focus in on. But I would fully recommend it if interested.
I cannot get enough of Star Traders RPG. it is new to the App Store, but I've been playing it every day, and it already got 4 awesome updates. I'm a big fan of Firefly and Serenity, so it makes sense that I love this game I think!

I used to love Battle for Wesnoth on the mac and last I heard its also on ios, give it a try.
Have you tried Starbase Orion? I haven't myself yet, but it's apparently something of a spiritual successor to Master of Orion

100 Rogues almost kept me from switching to Android when it was time to get a new phone. If you're into roguelikes, it's fantastic.

@Zaph: Another great one I just remembered.... Squids. It's a turn-based action rpg that takes place underwater. The art is near Pixar-quality.
