When it comes to console which controller do you prefer?  I would choose the mouse and keyboard any day but.....

I think either for me it would either be the NES or 360 controller.  I think the 360 controller fits my hands the best... its bigger and better for FPS.

The DualShock has supported my large man hands since 1998 and I'll stick with that. But for FPS games I'd never trade the mouse. FPS games only on the PC for me.

I am right there with you.  mouse and keyboard all the way.  But idk if you can really consider them controllers?

As far as consoles?  Probably the bigger PS1 dualshock controller :p The ps2 controller was a lot lighter iirc, so it just didn't feel the same.  But I would take any playstation controller over any xbox controller, anyday :P.  The NES controller was too blocky, it was great for it's time and all, but now that I'm not a little kid the controller seems entirely too small, and the Sega controller looked cooler imo.

I think, my favorite console controller of all time, would be a fight between the n64 controller (I played n64 to death in it's time :p) and the playstation controller.  The playstation controller would most likely win, but the n64 has nostalgia on it's side :P

As for PC, keyboard and mouse are preferred for most games; however I do have a logitech controller that is great for racing games and such.

Yes, most definitely. The keyboard may seem odd to be classified as one, but it pre-existed even the traditional Atari 2600 and the more modern shaped NES one. The keyboard just has like really a lot of buttons to press on, which makes it awesome.

The 360 controller is perfect in every way. It is the pinnacle of modern controller design, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

Thats a fair point, the D-Pad on the 360 controller is not up to scratch. But I raise the question, minus fighting games when do you vigorously use the D-Pad in games?

Perhaps some XBLA titles that don't necessarily demand the use of the left stick. I know I prefer playing side-scrollers with a classic D-pad than with a stick. Other than that, I brought up the D-pad because if Iane claimed that the controller is the pinnacle, then it should not have any general flaws and should be capable for playing any games.

yes your right that its not the pinnacle, no controller is. They are all have pro's and con's and its basically a matter of opinion on which you feel is best.

I'm all down for mouse and keyboard. Well, not the keyboard though. But the mouse for aiming and such is by far superiour to any controller. But I totally love the feel of the analog stick when moving my character on screen. A button sensetive keyboard might do the trick when I think about it. Still, analog stick is pretty awesome.

Back to topic, I would go for the dualshock controller. Playstation was the first video game console I really fell in love with and have been playing on a Playstation system ever since the launch of the original. I would like the easy to use 360 controller when connection to a PC though. So I have considered buying one instead of having to go the long way around by installing drivers and setting up button configuration programs for my dualshock. I'm just so freaking tired of having to set up new settings everytime I got a new PC game which "demands" a controller.

yeah it's probably the closest we'll get with consoles to perfection with playing FPS games, although kb/m is still far.
far.
superior.

however i like the dualshock a lot because i'm used to it, and it's good for fighting games, platformers, driving/racing games and adventurey type stuff.

The D-Pad is as perfect as a newborn baby's toes and shut up.

Ha ha.... Lane always busting somebodies ballz.  I would completely agree with you on the 360 controller, but the D-Pad definitely is not one of its stand out features.   I am not a big fan of the play station controller tho.  They are just to small of controller s for me to use.

The way I see it PS Controllers - Sports games
360 Controllers - FPS games

MOUSE & KEYBOARD FTW!!!

360 controllers are really, really nice, imo. I like triggers, so fuck dualshocks. Mose and keyboard... naah.

The bumpers. Too sensitive for me. I remember I had to switch PGR3's controls from normal to steering wheel because every time I quickly tapped the breaks at a turn the camera would change at the worst time and I'd crash. Plus, it's a essentially a curvy dreamcast controller, give credit to where it's due.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD EXERCISE THOSE SAUSAGE FINGERS THEN HAM HANDS

Also, the Dreamcast had no right thumbstick. Instant disqualification.
