Tested International Online Gaming Community Thread

  • Howdy people,

I really like the Tested community and being an avid gamer I'd like to play games with all of you. However I'm in the un/fortunate position of living in Australia which means playing with International members is highly unlikely without frustrating lag. So I thought I'd appeal to all of you to post games in which we could all play together.

I'm not a big MMO person (only played Aion and Champions Online in the past and not for very long) but I recently had a couple friends rope me into playing Tera which I've quite enjoyed through the Closed and Open Betas. It goes live next week and I've already pre-ordered my copy, if any of you happen to play it I'd love to run around a virtual world and viciously attack computer generated creatures with you. In the OB I played on the Frost Reach (PVE) server and will likely stay there when the game launches. If any of you are playing then feel free to add me (Player name: Kalindre / Female Archer).

Despite not being an MMO person, I'll make note of another I'm also interested in which is Firefall. It's apparently due for release in a couple months.

Are there any other games (preferrably not MMOs although if you play it suggest it anyway) people can think of that would work Internationally?

  • Hmm are you set on real-time games? I was thinking something leaderboard-centric could work pretty well, such as Trials: Evolution? Would be fun to pack a friends list full of Tested guys and try to keep on top of the 'boards, and there would be no chance of lag being a factor.

  • How about turned based things? Civ 5 is the first thing that springs to mind, but if you can't stand the time commitment something like Frozen Synapse sounds like it would fit the bill.

  • Leaderboards sounds alright but some real-time games would be good. I'm up to all hours of the morning anyway so time difference shouldn't be an issue for the most part. I don't own Trials: Evolution but I'm sure there are other games that this could work with. Everyone can feel free to add my steam account, just list your accounts here though as I'll ignore invites from people I don't know.

Civ V is a bit much lol and not played Frozen Synapse, will look into it.

Since i actually own that game i agree. You could very well play a 6 turn game over a week.

  • I am game for some leader board/ turn based games. I'm currently playing through Trials: Evolution so if anyone wants another ghost to chase down add my gamertag: ebritt. Post in here if you do as I don't normally accept random requests but I deem the tested community the right sort of random! :D

  • I love me some Sins of a Solar Empire ;)

  • Civ is cool, but they got rid of the play by eMail option didn't they? So you all have to sit around and wait to play the game... which isn't really an easy thing to do, it's a long game.

I don't understand why they don't have a mechanic like Hero Academy where you can have a bunch of games going on at once, and when it's your turn, you get notified, and play your turn.

  • I am trying to think of what we can do to get some Tested community game time. I would say lets jump on some TF2, but like @stenchlord: said the time zone is going to make it difficult depending up on where you live.

  • @Lashe: Sure would love to compete with other Testers in Trials Evo, feels free to add Vegsen on XBL :)

  • I figure we could go back this old post and maybe get usernames going again.

  • Will anyone on Tested be participating in the Guild Wars 2 beta this weekend? I'll be there.

  • @Evelgest: I wish. I never played the first guild wars, but I have been looking at the up coming GW2 recently and seems like it will do well. Let me know how the game play is. This would work perfect since I don't have much time for paid MMO's and wouldn't get my moneys worth I don't think.

  • @GTFShadow: Will do. I'll likely post my thoughts here and on GB. You'll have to excuse my bias since I tremendously enjoyed the original Guild Wars. I actually have a write-up explaining what Guild Wars 2 is that I was going to post here, but life caught up. Perhaps I'll post it.
