I had fun doing things like using egg timers for taking time-lapse panoramics, but obviously lacking when it came time to the DSLR. I just spotted this project from Syrp on kickstarter. Can be setup for panning or linear motion. Really cool. Just passed the $500k funding mark. As of today, 11 days to go. Check out the video.

Rember seeing this about when it launched, niche product for sure but it looks like it is at the top of its field.
