Last year I bought a Nikon D3100, looking to get into photography. Over the past few months, I have gradually shifted to a more video-focused interest.
Last month, I went on trip with my school to Belize. I decided I would make a video travel series about the trip.
@Jayross: Funny story: I was in Belize once, for half a day. I actually had lunch at that same hotel that you stayed at, "The Black Orchid". I thought it was funny, but also depressing, that the hotel was allegedly one of the best in the country (their claim), and yet the lunch they offered consisted of dry, hard french fries, and lukewarm hot dogs. Did you have similar experience? I guess the tourism draw of Belize is the ecological richness, although since the weather was terrible when I was there, I didn't get to see much.
Nice videos, it's interesting to see more of the country, since I didn't get much of a chance.
@CROM: Hah, interesting story. That makes sense, The Black Orchid unquestionably had the worst food out of all the places we stayed. However, I thought the food in Belize was pretty good if you like rice, beans, chicken and tortillas. I'm a fan of all those things so I ate quite well. Belize is certainly an interesting country, and yeah, the hiking and nature aspect of it is probably why one would want to visit.
A few years ago, I went on a trip with my Boy Scout troop to an international camporee in Michigan. The international troops in our campsite were from Costa Rica and the Isle of Man. One night the international troops were tasked with making dinner with stuff they would maybe use from their home country. The kids from Costa Rica made some fucking delicious tacos, and the kids from the Isle of Man made some extremely bland soup. Now I want tacos and beans.
@Jayross: Don't be afraid of video stablization! Especially if you have a tool like After Effects, stabilizing video is easy. In some instances you might not want to use it (as it might essentially turn a video instal a still), but otherwise, it is a very handy tool which I think would improve the various shorts. $0.02

@Jayross: now you've gone and made me hungry.

Good work.
@Jayross: Thanks for the video, the sights brought back memories from the many good years I spent living there.
