I was trying to get help on tested and was greeted with the 5 post per day limit...is there ANY way for the site to see I have near 8k posts here and see " Hmmm maybe he is not a spammer? Advertiser?"
On a side note i know this is not a bug.
Also posted this on GB. Wanted to see what the people who are more often on tested think
@The_Laughing_Man: If Dave or the top men see it, I'm sure it would be considered. However, it will likely never be a priority over building new stuff for the site and such. Still, appreciate the enthusiasm for posting, though I have never run into the issue at hand.
@The_Laughing_Man
well to be honest we've had some class A douche bags drop in from giantbomb where the 5 post limit was a blessing and because they are also pretty big douches elsewhere they also have a high post count so we'd of had to sit through there sea of crap posting if that was in place. Also most people will gladly continue a help discussion over private message while still updating the main thread so I don't think it's too much of a hinderance considering the benefits

Its annoying cause earlier I was trying to get help with somthing and was slammed with that even know I have near 8k posts on giantbomb.
We feel your pain but what @cripplecaptain already said, just that you are from Giantbomb doesn't mean you can't "spam" just a week ago we had this kid who make a new thread for every part of the computer he was going to build. So although it is annoying for you right now if you ever decide to get involved in the tested community it will be long gone until then there is not much that can be done for you.
I understand the reasoning for it but it can be quite annoying; I hit it when I first started and was forced to edit one post to respond publicly; I've also had to carry on conversations with new users via PM because they hit the limit in their threads, leading to people suggesting the same things over.
What is the cut off for a new user, i.e. how many posts until the limit no longer applies?

I'd also be curious to know if it's relate to a number of posts, or a length of time since the account was created
It ends after 15 posts so you are good to go forever now. Yeah it's clear you aren't a spammer but it's an issue that effects so few people for such a short time it's not really something that needs immediately fixing.

Can I ask the name of the spammer? Cause I think I might know who it was.
Huh, I didn't even know there was a limit. It probably wouldn't be too hard for them to aggregate post counts across sites, similar to what they do with wiki points.

That sounds pretty reasonable, the good of this system far outweigh the inconvenience it sometimes might present. Looking up the mod queue without it would be one heck of a scary experience.
All new members are limited to 5 posts per day untill they have 16 posts if I remember correctly. Anyway seeing as they can know if you have more thank 5k wiki points on other sites I think it shouldn't be too hard for them to do the same for forum posts.

I mean since I have over 7k posts on gb...And my accounts are linked...cant they use that system to remove it?
