If you’re a heavy caffeine junkie, you know that making coffee at home is way cheaper than popping off to Starbucks. But did you know that green (unroasted) coffee beans are ten times less expensive than buying them roasted? If you want to have total control over your java experience, it’s simple to roast your beans at home. All you need is an air-powered popcorn popper, a metal colander and a big bowl. It takes between five to eight minutes, depending on how dark you like your roast. Make sure to let the beans sit for a day or two before you grind them to allow them to release gases, then grind and enjoy.
