No epub support sounds a little suspect to me still. You never saw Apple lock out mp3s on ipods and they managed to create the number one mp3 player. I think the lockout of epub is a sign that they don't think their prices are good enough on the books yet. More 4.99 books and a standard of 9.99 for everything else would be awesome but doubtful.
How's the screen in terms of scratch resistence? Do you need a cover or case? Can I forgo all the extras and just throw it in my backpack and not worry about it?
You two make expensive gadgets the sweetest temptations.
Looking forward to the full review.
Still, impressive technology on display there. Would love to get one for a gift, or have a certain site hold a contest and rig it so that I win and mail it to me so that I could get it for my birthday on September 21st! Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more say no more?
Also I demand that you take one apart!
I've got one on preorder, looking forward to it coming.
I said a few months ago that I would buy a kindle if it came out on the native UK store, and was less than £120 i would get one. Amazon got me on both counts
Great video!
Thanks for another hilarious and informative video! I've been wondering how these would be for folks I know who read a lot of books, but I think it has the same problem as games in digital download format right now; it's fine if you're the kind of person who buys everything new and never wants to exchange anything for new stuff, but there are plenty of people I know who only buy used books.
There's also the issue of commitment to the platform whenever you buy.
:)
