Remote Recycle

625 pixels works just fine.

For artist Chris Shen's first solo show in London, he built Infra, a concept monochrome display where each pixel is displayed using the LED from an old infrared remote. In total, Shen used 625 remotes for this piece of art, with each clicker mounted to a metal frame and connected to control board. What's cool is that the control board used is the Peggy 2--a programmable light-emitting pegboard matrix that's sold as a kit. Watch video of Infra at work here.
