Richard Garriott's Incredible and Fantastical CollectionsBy Norman Chan This 10 minute short film takes you through the many collections in Lord British's Austin estate, known as Britannia Manor. Much of Garriott's collections have to do with his obsession with space, including memorabilia from his famous trek to the International Space Station, artifacts of the space race (including one of the original Sputnik satellites), and room full of orreries. But a large portion of the video focuses on Garriott's collection of automata, including a piece by Dug North. Dug has written a post on his Automata blog spotlighting a few pieces seen in the video, as he's one of the few people in the world who can truly appreciate this collection.
