Pinokio: Animatronic Lamp Brought to Life with ArduinoBy Norman Chan Modelled after Pixar's Luxo Jr. lamp, Pinokio is an animatronic lamp created by three students at the Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. Its movements are informed by a webcam and controlled with a combination of scripted and procedural animation through six servos. Work-in-progress testing video shows the software's facial recognition system searching for faces to interact with, and this student blog details the lamp's construction.
