@Deadlegends: Ryan Whitwam has posted a ton of Android app recommendations over the last six months or so. Just search for Android on the site, and it will come up.

That launcher pro is interesting it is genuinely the first time i've seen an android UI that could rival my 3gs in "fluidity" of homescreen, which is depressingly important to me.

I just got my first smartphone, a Droid X, and I feel like a live in a completely different world now. This new world is made significantly less overwhelming thanks to the dudes at Tested. Moar Android apps!

Couldn't you just replace those 2 with gmote?

Thank you Will and Norm!!!

Oh btw Will have you tried DoubleTwist media player? After tinkering with the multitude of media players on android, I found it the most convenient, and works pretty much like itunes. My problem was that all other media players including default do not class albums by album artist, so albums with a lot of remixes with various .Feat artists would get their own 1-song albums, doubletwist and itunes rectify that.

DoggCatcher is an outstanding app, well worth the $7 imho. I use it daily, it's just so convenient.

Norm looks sad.

I'd recommend the 3 music player:

and for a tweet client probably can't do better than  tweetdeck

I think 3 is a better music client (that is the superscript 3 like cubed)
I also like the official twitter client better but you had your reasons why you didn't

Thanks for the recommendations Will. I'm going to be using Twicca for a while, looks neat. Trying out btunes as well. I haven't liked any of the previous media players I've tried, but this one looks alright. Nice finds!

I'm running ADW, and I would recommend it too. It's great if you're stuck on 1.6 since Will's recommendation isn't 1.6 compatible as far as I know.

And yes, Giant Bomb app.  :P

@fivecats:  True...maybe he is yearning for an Android phone?
WillKielon Aug. 14, 2010 at 8:48 p.m.
Launcher Pro is awesome- thanks of the suggestion, guys.
TheWojon Aug. 14, 2010 at 9:32 p.m.
I love DoggCatcher, and I listen to a ton of podcasts. Well worth the $7. Glad to see it getting some love on this site!
Treythalomewon Aug. 14, 2010 at 9:45 p.m.
Been using Launcher Pro for awhile now and it is amazing. The developer is constantly updating the app and adding new features and even started adding a paid section for his app so hopefully he can get some cash for his hard work.

I wish there were more apps like DoggCatcher. Apps that really do things that make the phone feel like it's the future and things that Apple doesn't let you do. Waking up and knowing that any new podcasts are on my phone ready to go is awesome.
minimaxon Aug. 14, 2010 at 9:46 p.m.
whats is the live wallpaper used in that video?
ryanw staff on Aug. 14, 2010 at 10:43 p.m.
@minimax: That's one of the wallpapers that come on the Captivate and other Galaxy S phones. Can't really get it on other phones. A dev ripped them and put a few on the Market, but it looked super shady to me.

I'd still be really interested in seeing a feature like this for iOS apps sometime too, I don't think I've seen one yet?
